International Institute for Animal Assisted Play Therapy®
Interested in offering animal assisted play therapy? IIAPT offers one possible option for certification in this model.
I have completed the level one course and the prerequisites for level two. It’s heavily ethics-driven and activity-based which is fantastic, but I’m hoping they’ll update their online format to be in video webinar format in the future. The online portion of the trainings was very heavy in reading PowerPoints when I took it. My plan is to complete certification in this model, but I’m completing my RPT first. Colorado State: Social Aspects of Human-Animal Interactions (HAI) Graduate Certificate
From what I’ve seen of this program (I haven’t personally participated), I like the format and classes involved to get the certificate. It looks nicely organized. It’s pretty expensive, however. More information can be found here: https://online.colostate.edu/certificates/human-animal-interactions/
