Therapists provide weekly therapy to help clients develop coping mechanisms and talk out difficult experiences or situations. While therapy or psychiatric medication can both be helpful by themselves, they are often best used together. The medication can help reduce a person’s symptoms while the therapist helps the person develop new skills and coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms.
